Texans and teething
It's been a while, so there's lots of things to tell!
First, we went to a Texans game yesterday with little Leo. What an adventure! He was such a good sport. When we got into the stands, he appeared, honestly, terrified of all the loud noise! His eyes were wide and he cowered in his daddy's arm. His dad covered his ears to try and make him more comfortable. By the second quarter, however, he really perked up, and we think he even enjoyed the sights and sounds. He smiled at the people behind us, and they took a nice picture for us!

At the game, a man stopped and talked to us about our sweet baby. He decided to guess his age, and said 8 months! I feel like a broken record, but yes, our kid is HUGE! He's not fat, maybe a little chubby, but he's really big and long! We have busted out the 9 month clothes for our sweet little 3 1/2 month old. He takes bottles of 5 oz. during the day while I am at work... started with 4 oz. and he was sucking those dry and fussing for more! (Gotta figure out how to build up my milk supply!)
His size isn't the only development. He's grabbing objects and toys and putting them straight into his mouth. Holds his head up like a champ! He can even hold it up 90 degrees while on his tummy now. He's become such a roly-poly, turning to one side or another the second you lay him down. And my favorite new thing, he's giggling and squealing constantly!

Also, as you can probably tell from this picture, little Leo is teething. Drooling like crazy, sucking his fist and thumb (and anything else he can get into his mouth), and has been more fussy lately. Poor sweet thing! I can't wait until he gets his first tooth!

Back to work.
I haven't posted lately because I am back to work! It was twice as hard as I imagined to leave little Leo, but it was ten times easier to make it through the day knowing that he was staying at home with two people who love him very much. Grandma and Granddad Cailleteau are watching him until our daycare spot opens in November.
It hasn't been all smooth sailing. He has been somewhat resistant to taking the bottle, though he was eating very well by the end of the week. It's also been hard on Grandma trekking up and down three floors! However, Grandma has done an amazing job with getting him to take good naps and seems to be having a very good time spending the days with her grandson. We are very lucky.

Pumping has been... interesting. I am determined to give little Leo breastmilk for as long as possible, so that means pumping at work. We have a little room, which I think used to be a janitor's closet, inside the ladies' room at work. When I first checked it out, it was dirty!! I think no one else has used the room in quite some time. I had to give it a wipe down from floor to ceiling with anti-bac wipes. Feels funny hooked up to the machine with my top down at work... the things we do for love of a tiny baby! I would love to see the looks on the faces of the ladies walking into the restroom when they hear the pump going "wuh-uh wuh-uh wuh-uh" on the other side of that door!
At home, we are having so much fun with little Leo. He can ALMOST hold that heavy head up! He's really starting to follow objects, and once in a while, he grabs and holds them. He smiles so much, and I know it won't be long before he's giggling when we wiggle his toys at him.

Things are going well...
I thought I'd post some positive things now, since I go back to work next week and I doubt I'll be feeling very positive then!
I fit into a pair of pre-preggo jeans! Hooray! Three cheers for breastfeeding, because I haven't done two minutes of exercise!
Little Leo is sleeping 8 hours at night pretty consistently, and sometimes 9. I've also started putting him for naps in his crib. I started to gradually put him there this week when I noticed he stopped sleeping as well in his swing or his little lamb chair. He took a three-hour nap in his crib today!

Little Leo's first Astros game
We took little Leo to his first baseball game Saturday! It went surprisingly well considering we had a two-month old in tow! We arrived after the start of the game, of course. I already knew I'd have to feed him at the game, since by the time we left the house, almost 2 hours had passed since his last feeding. So about 30 minutes after we arrived, we had our loudest, sweatiest nursing session ever in the family bathroom near our section. The A/C apparently wasn't on in the upper deck, and the speaker was blaring the game more loudly than if we were in the stands!
After that, we think little Leo enjoyed all the new sights and sounds. He sat in his Dad's lap observing everything and listening quietly until we finally left in about the 7th inning. The Astros were losing pretty badly to the Mets, and it was almost baby's bedtime!
