Baby meets Great-Grandma Iles

We all had a wonderful time this weekend, when baby Leo's Great-Grandma Iles visited from Kentucky. It was love at first sight for both... so many smiles were traded!

The end of the swaddle...

I knew this day would come, and it's stupid, but... I'm a little emotional! My baby can't be swaddled anymore. :(

He kept on kicking out of it and waking himself up because he's too big for his blankets. Plus he's started sleeping in a "sleep sack" at daycare (their rules), so he's gotten used to that. Soooo... I have been putting him in a sleep sack at home, and he sleeps GREAT. 11 hours last night! So nice to know that I don't have to worry about a loose blanket in the crib AND he's comfortable.

Just for fun...

So many things to post about as soon as I find the cord to our camera! For now, here's a couple pictures Granddad Cailleteau took this weekend.

Smoooooch!

I can't help it, I love him so much!!

He is now ROLLING!! Both ways, back to tummy, then tummy to back! What a big boy. I can tell he wants to go mobile so badly, crawling is only a matter of time. He propels himself by pushing off with his feet, without regard to where he'll land. Gotta hold on to him tight! Time to babyproof the house...

Playtime!

We got these cute interlocking foam mats for little Leo to play on the living room floor, since we have hardwood floors.

I'd swear he could roll over if he wanted to, I just don't think he wants to! I caught him today about 80% of the way from his back to his tummy, but he doesn't particularly care for lying on his tummy, so he just rolled right back.

4 months!

Dad had the honor of taking little Leo for his 4-month checkup and shots Friday. Our 'little' one weighed in at 16 lbs. 8 oz. (80th %) and was 25 inches long (50th %)! The pediatrician said it wouldn't hurt him to miss a meal, but I think he looks perfect! Don't you?

He went to his first LSU tailgate this weekend, but since the camera battery died, we didn't get any pictures. Here are a couple cute ones I just took.

Playtime!

I'm trying to make up for a lack of posting! Here is a picture of some evening playtime. He loves this little cow.

He was so tired when he got home from daycare that he was falling asleep on the couch shortly after this. We skipped the bath and put him to bed at 7:15!

Destin, FL

Here are some pictures from our trip to Destin Labor Day weekend. Little Leo took his first airplane ride, and traveled like a champ! We had so much fun hanging out with friends and enjoying the beach.

We coated Leo in sunblock.

His fair skin looking even whiter with the sunblock on!

We tried the pool, but the water was too cold and he cried.

So Dad sat by the pool with him while he took a catnap instead.

Mama-to-be Katie had fun playing with the little one.

Max made delicious fajitas for my birthday!

A carrot cake that actually had 29 candles! (Or more?)

Family Beach Portrait

Mom and baby on the beach.

A nap was in order.

I just thought this one was super cute. (Notice the spit-up on his shoulder!)

Vacation is a fun time when you get to sleep in bed with your parents.

Lauren got in some baby playtime too!

This kid can sleep... through a round of mini-golf!

Baby's 1st Day at Daycare

Getting ready to leave for daycare.

As you all know, Grandma and Granddad Cailleteau have been staying with Baby Leo for about a month, since our daycare plans didn't work out exactly as planned. We had all planned for them to stay through November when our daycare spot opened. We have really enjoyed their help and the TLC they shower on our little man!

Well, we found out about 2 weeks ago that an infant had left an opening at the daycare, and our spot opened up. So his first day was yesterday! It was a much more difficult day for Mama than it was for Baby.

We love his school, but it takes a leap of faith to leave your most precious person with a stranger. I was a nervous wreck all day.

We have visited his school on numerous occasions, at different times of day. The infants are always clean and happy, and the teachers seem to love the children and treat them very well. There are lots of toys, and they even have some structured teaching/playtime.

His first day went very well. We swaddled him and put him down for his first nap of the day when we dropped him off. He did okay with his bottles, but his teacher said he was a little fussy during feeding time. (Could be the teething, or could be that he was complaining that it wasn't Mama!) He took 3 good naps throughout the day. (The teachers were impressed that he puts himself to sleep!) He was happily playing on a mat with some hanging toys when I arrived.

Apparently, the first day of school is very tiring, because last night he slept from 7:30 to 6:00!

Updates Coming!

Check back later today... I'm getting up pics and stories from baby's 1st day at daycare and our trip to Destin, FL.
